Getting healthy isn’t as hard as the diet industry makes you think, by Amanda

Everything I’d read BEFORE Kelly’s book made getting healthy seem like a full-time job!

I’ve always been overwhelmed by the idea that in order to lose weight I must exercise vigorously for hours a day.
I was overwhelmed by exercise and stuck in the constant cycle of overeating treats and then skipping meals— Amanda, Canada
I also struggled with the constant cycle of overeating treats, then trying to make up for them by either skipping meals or looking for a quick and easy solution to magically make up for decisions over the long term that kept me from feeling my healthiest.

Kelly’s advice for getting healthy is practical and rooted in science

Kelly’s book flies in the face of everything you read in diet culture – even though it is chock full of practical, sustainable and common sense advice, best of all which is rooted in science and evidence.

The fact that I could go out and enjoy running just three times a week, combined with healthy habits like preparing and enjoying meals, finally made me realize I don’t have to spend the rest of my life feeling like I’ll never do enough to properly take care of myself.
For the first time in my life I can picture a future for myself where I'm not spending 90% of my waking day preoccupied by food— Amanda, Canada
Though I haven’t quite gotten there yet, for the first time in my life I can picture a future where I’m not spending 90% of my waking day preoccupied by food, how I look, or worrying about how others think I look.

Kelly’s straightforward guidance to getting healthy truly is emotionally, mentally and physically liberating.

Getting healthy has never been so easy

It takes me just a few seconds longer when preparing my meals to think about how they will be roughly balanced. I also spend exactly zero time worrying about how I can possibly cope with depriving myself of essential nutrients or core food groups. Like carbohydrates, (full fat) dairy, or meat.
I no longer feel guilty eating a bagel and cream cheese at breakfast! I never would have dreamed saying that six months ago.— Amanda, Canada
I no longer feel guilty a) eating breakfast or b) eating a bagel and cream cheese at breakfast! I never would have dreamed saying that six months ago. And now I really look forward to complementing my favourite breads and grains with more fruits and veggies, too!

Kelly makes the journey of getting healthy so much brighter

Getting healthy isn’t about spending 100’s of dollars or hours

this will be the last resource you’ll ever need— Amanda, CanadaIf you’ve spent hundreds of hours and possibly hundreds of dollars on punishing and joyless diet and exercise programs or books (that ask you to ignore your definition of balance or your common sense), Kelly’s book is truly the last resource you’ll ever need to succeed in achieving a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
